Sacred Valley of the incas

Information

The Sacred Valley of the Incas, located north of the city of Cusco in the Peruvian Andes, stretches over approximately 100 kilometers. This region is traversed by rivers that flow through streams and small valleys, offering a rich collection of archaeological monuments and indigenous communities. The Sacred Valley boasts a slightly more temperate climate than Cusco itself, with elevations ranging between 2,800 and 2,900 meters above sea level.

Here, you can explore a variety of archaeological sites set against breathtaking natural and cultural landscapes. Each attraction has its own unique features, as this area is home to the largest concentration of Inca heritage in Peru. Notable sites include Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, Moray, and the salt mines. These locations offer everything from cave paintings to archaeological complexes, ancient structures, streets, and insights into the economic activities of local communities—making them some of the most popular destinations for our visitors.

The tour begins with hotel pickup between 7:50 AM and 8:30 AM. We will then embark on a journey to visit fascinating tourist attractions, starting with the «Inca Cemetery of Pisaq» while crossing the Andes, offering spectacular landscape views. Next, we will visit the «Pisac Market» before continuing to Urubamba, where lunch will be provided at the chosen restaurant. Afterward, we head to «Ollantaytambo,» an impressive archaeological site and the highlight of the tour. Here, we’ll have the opportunity to explore the town’s streets and get a clear sense of how this military, religious, and cultural center functioned during the Inca Empire.

The tour concludes with a visit to Chinchero, a charming town renowned for its textiles. This site is home to the remains of the royal treasury of Túpac Inca Yupanqui. In the main square, admire the well-preserved Inca wall, and explore the beautiful colonial temple, featuring fascinating frescoes in the portico, built atop Inca foundations.

We will return to Cusco at approximately 6:45 PM. Each stop offers 40 to 60 minutes to explore.
