Itinerary
At approximately 6:00 AM, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and transfer you to the train station in Poroy, located about 40 minutes from the city. From there, you’ll board the train and embark on a scenic journey to the town of Aguas Calientes (2,000 masl). Upon arrival, our guide will meet you and accompany you to the bus station, where we will ascend 400 meters via a zigzagging mountain road. The 30-minute drive will bring us to the renowned Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, famously known as The Lost City of the Incas.
Once inside the citadel, your guided tour will begin. Over approximately two hours, you’ll explore iconic landmarks, including the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the surrounding ceremonial areas.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to further explore the site at your own pace or relax and enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants in Aguas Calientes. If you prefer, you can dine at the exclusive Sanctuary Lodge (lunch not included).
At the designated time, we’ll board the train back to Poroy, retracing the picturesque route. Upon arrival at the train station, we’ll transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco, concluding this unforgettable experience.
