Your journey begins in the «navel of the world,» with unforgettable stops at some of the most renowned archaeological sites in Cusco, culminating in a visit to the awe-inspiring Inca citadel of Machu Picchu.
Itinerary
Day 1
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, you’ll be picked up between 8:10 AM and 8:30 AM for your tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, following the path of the Vilcanota River. Along the way, you’ll experience the vibrant rural customs at the Pisac Indian Market, followed by a buffet lunch at a local tourist restaurant. In the afternoon, we’ll pass through the towns of Calca and Urubamba before reaching the Ollantaytambo Fortress—a strategic Inca stronghold built to protect against invasions from the lowland tribes. Stroll through the picturesque streets of Ollantaytambo and learn about its significance as a military, religious, and agricultural center of the Inca Empire. After the tour, we’ll take the chosen train, which departs for Aguas Calientes. After a scenic 1 hour and 40-minute train ride, our transfer will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
Day 2
Your day begins early with a bus ride from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. The bus departs at 6:00 AM, and you’ll arrive at the Machu Picchu Archaeological Site by 7:00 AM, where your guided tour will begin. From 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, you’ll explore the site’s most iconic areas with your expert guide. After the tour, you’ll have free time to relax, enjoy the stunning views, or visit Huayna Picchu (additional cost of $25.00, advance reservation required). In the afternoon, starting at 3:00 PM, return trains depart from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo, where our transport will be waiting to bring you back to your hotel in Cusco.
